Our herd consists of Angus-based cows that are selectively cross-bred to Hereford, Simmental and Sim-Angus sires. We believe cross breeding is an essential strategy to improve the longevity, health and productivity of a herd. We breed both in the spring and fall, and AI all of our cows and heifers.
Bred heifers and pairs are available at several Missouri sales in the spring and fall. We are a Show Me Select breeder and adhere to their best practices throughout the herd. If you are looking for high-quality heifers or would like more information, please contact us.
Most importantly, our cows are our most important asset. We take tremendous pride in their performance. That's why we do everything possible to ensure their safety, health and longevity.
Mershon Cattle also participates in the American Hereford Association's National Reference Sire Program. As a part of this prestigious program, we collect data on the steers to monitor their outcomes.
A win-win for land owners and farm managers. This innovative program brings more people into the industry and ensures that our cattle receive the highest quality of care. Carefully selected, our pasture partners raise/manage our cattle without the capital requirements and market risk. For cattlemen and women looking to generate income without the capital expenditures, our Pasture Program is an ideal solution.
